Friday, September 29th Presentation Schedule

5:30 pm – 6:30 pm – Travel Photography Basics from Nikon – Learn what camera settings to use and when.

After buying that new camera for your trip, the first thing you want to know is how to photograph the various subjects you will see, while on your adventure.

Let Jay Gough from Nikon Canada, simplify the many settings you can take advantage of on your camera, and show you the techniques, settings, and gear you can use in your everyday photography.

You don’t have to use Nikon Cameras to learn at this seminar, the concepts and information can apply to all cameras. Bring your phone or tablet to take notes or record the presentation, or go old school and use a notepad. Lots of information will be shared that you’ll want to remember and put into practice.

1:30 pm – 2:30 pm – We bought a van, drove to Alaska, and made money doing it!

Our backstory begins with one epic road trip to Olympic National Park in Washington State. Some of us knew one another for years and one of us didn’t know anyone, but nonetheless, we embarked on a trip that began something great. After a few days together on the road, we all were able to see the beauty in adventuring with like-minded individuals. After our adventure, we wanted to further collaborate to enable others to get outside. And just like that, All About Adventures was born.

Presented by All About Adventures

3:30 pm – 4:30 pm – Reaching your targeted demographic and strengthening your social media presence

Photography has found a new home, and it’s not in a gallery. In recent years social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram have become increasingly important for amateur and professional photographers alike to showcase their work. Why have more businesses and professional photographers made the jump into this online space? What is an ‘Instagram influencer?’

Did you know you can use Instagram to find new travel locations you’d never heard of? Join the University of British Columbia Photographic Society for an informational talk that explores the benefits of using social media to enhance the reach of your brand that will help you stand out from the rest of the crowd.
